Commonly asked questions

Answers to the questions QA teams ask most—about Playwright export, self-healing, pricing, supported platforms, and bundled pen-testing.

Quality Intelligence (QI) is an AI-driven, end-to-end QA automation platform. You record a user flow once and QI generates real, self-healing Playwright tests that run across web, Android, iOS and Flutter — no scripting required to get started.

When your UI changes — a renamed button, a moved element, a reworked screen — QI's AI re-anchors the locator and repairs the step automatically. Your suite stays green instead of breaking on brittle selectors, so you spend time shipping, not babysitting tests.

No. AI is used while authoring and repairing tests, but the tests themselves are deterministic Playwright code that executes with zero LLM calls at runtime. That means fast, repeatable, CI-friendly runs you can trust.

Web, Android, iOS and web-Flutter apps — all captured through a single recording flow and exported to one Playwright suite. One recording can expand into multiple test cases across every supported platform.

Yes. QI produces standard, readable Playwright specs you can commit to your own repo, run in your own CI, and edit by hand at any time. There is no lock-in — the tests are yours to keep.

The desktop app records flows and generates specs locally on your machine. QI Cloud runs the same recordings and specs server-side with a dashboard, scheduling, team entitlements and bundled pen-testing. Use either on its own, or both together.

Plans include a recurring credit allowance — recordings, cloud runs and pen-tests draw from your credits. Start free, then upgrade when you need more volume or team features. See the Pricing page for current plans.

QI includes a Strix-powered pen-testing layer that probes your application for common security issues alongside your functional tests. You may only run it against applications you own or are explicitly authorized to test.

We ship continuously. QI Cloud updates roll out automatically, and desktop releases land regularly with new recorders, self-healing improvements, and fixes — so you’re always on the latest pipeline.

Yes. The desktop app checks for and installs updates automatically, keeping your recording and codegen engine current without a manual reinstall.

Our changelog lists the new features, enhancements and fixes in each release. It’s the quickest way to see what’s new across the recorder, self-healing and cloud dashboard.

No. Because QI exports standard Playwright code, your committed specs keep running as-is. Codegen and self-healing improvements apply to new recordings and repairs, not to tests you already own.

Yes. Major additions — like a new mobile or framework recorder, or expanded cloud capabilities — are called out in the changelog and on our blog.

Reach out through support or live chat. Roadmap items driven by real QA teams are prioritized, and we note them in the changelog when they ship.

During recording and “Fix with AI”, the steps needed to generate or repair a spec may be sent to our AI provider. At runtime your tests execute as plain, deterministic Playwright code — nothing is sent to any LLM while your suite runs.

With the desktop app, recordings and generated specs stay on your machine. In QI Cloud, run artifacts — specs, logs, screenshots and videos — are stored in your workspace’s object storage and scoped to your account.

A recording captures the actions and locators needed to replay a flow. Treat anything you type as test data: use dedicated test accounts and QI’s data variables instead of real secrets, so sensitive values never live inside a spec.

Cloud run artifacts are kept for your plan’s retention window and can be deleted from the dashboard at any time. Deleting your account removes the artifacts associated with it.

Yes. The desktop app runs fully on your machine for teams that can’t send anything to the cloud. QI Cloud is the hosted option for when you want server-side runs, scheduling and shared dashboards.

Our Privacy Policy and GDPR pages cover the complete details on how data is handled and the rights you have over it. They are the authoritative source for QI’s data practices.

You do. The Playwright specs and reports QI produces are yours to keep, commit, run and modify. There is no lock-in to QI to execute them — export them and run them anywhere.

Your plan includes a recurring credit allowance for recordings, cloud runs and pen-tests. You can upgrade, downgrade or cancel from your account at any time, and usage draws down from your available credits.

No. You may only run QI’s pen-testing against applications you own or are explicitly authorized to test. Unauthorized security testing is prohibited under our terms and may be illegal.

Yes. The tests, artifacts and reports QI generates are yours to use in your commercial projects, internal tooling and CI pipelines.

You can cancel at any time and keep access through the end of your current billing period. Refund eligibility is described in our Terms & Conditions.

The complete Terms & Conditions govern your use of Quality Intelligence. See the Terms & Conditions page for the authoritative, up-to-date version.
